Baroque Stone Urns
along the garden wall
- leading to the main gate
of the Upper Belvedere Palace -
are bathed in the light of the
setting evening sun.
Dark Clouds
coming up swiftly from the northeast,
threatening thunderstorms.
The Light
changes quickly,
from cold white to golden hues.
The Gardener's House
and the Linden trees near the
entrance to the Alpine Garden shine
in brilliant evening light against the dark sky beyond.
The South Façade
of the Upper Belvedere's Palace
is already wrapped in twilight's grey.
To the Norteast,
the steeples of "Mary Mother of God"
soar into the sky, with dark clouds growing bolder,
taking on an almost apocalyptic blue.

in the evening hours of
June 11th, 2009,
at Prince Eugene's Upper Belvedere.
