  1. Beautiful pictures Merisi. The naked tree in front of the Servitenkirche is a stark reminder of winter. I don't know what a Guglhupf is, but it looks tempting. Maybe it's a kind of confectionery search engine?

    WV: Smile (honestly!)

  3. Wandring Star:
Guglhupf can be spelled various ways, Gugelhupf, Gugelhopf, Kugelhupf, Kougelhupf, the possibilities seem to be boundless, until the end of your imagination.

The Guglhupf is always baked in that characteristic high pan, with a vent hole in the middle. It is either made with a sweet yeast dough or with a pound cake batter.

    WV:
It took me a while to get the pun. Word verification! *smile*

    A Brush with Color,
    thank you!
I loved how the decorative effect of the stucco got augmented by the shadow play.

  8. The Vienna coffee shops remind me of my days in London, when I would go to the National Museum followed by a trip to one of the many pastry shops down Villiers Street between Charing Cross and Embankment Tube Stations. There to sit awhile with an exquisite pastry with a good cup of coffee or tea. Sigh.
