I lived in that café, when I had a very small appartement. But I preferred the old Schanigarten in orange-yellow with round white tables and white chairs. how much time I spent there. At that time the café closed at four o'clock in the morning. Even watching soccer in the tv-room was cult. by the way - you could not drink the coffee, it tasted very bad.
tut-tut, oh well, eathereal beauty it was, but I had no mercy (after I photographed it, of course *g*). simon, May I confess that it tasted heavenly? (All that beauty, sacrificied for a worthy cause, so to speak! *g*)
willow, Matteo Thun designed this cup for Julius Meinl, the venerable Viennese coffee roasters. I have been lusting after owning one ever since I first laid eyes on it. So far, all I got is the Thun designed little red milk jug, big as a thimble. At 9 Euros a bargain, don't you think? ;-)
freefalling, the mellow August light paints each day brighter than the previous one.
Paz, so do I, with all my heart. I wished I could make time stand still, this time of the year especially.
Allie, I am really greateful for that, each and every day!
Anonymous, I walk by there often (usually coming from the U6 Josefstädter stop, but haven't had coffee there so far (so many coffee houses, so little time *g*). Now that they are offering the Meinl brew, let's hope that the coffee's taste reflects the qualitiy of the beans! ;-)
Elizsabeth, I agree! ;-)
TLC Illustrations, Vienna has not only a whole lot of private apartment owners who tend to window boxes, even businesses do. I enjoy them immensely.
I wouldn't want to disturb the perfection of that cup . . .
ReplyDeleteI agree! the cup looks too good to drink!
