  2. I'm starving!
And that beef dish sounds de-lish-us!
I wish someone would cook it for me.

  3. STEPH:
Yes, but the summer version, as it sold at Diglas, among others: Thinly cut cold beef, arranged on some lettuce leaves with red onions, red wine vinegar and pumpkin seed oil.

    FREEFALLING:
Wished I could take you to Diglas, where they serve it both hold and cold. ;-)

  6. My favorite antique store closed this year and I am so sad. Yes, a sign of the times. Not many of the younger people are interesting in antiques these days. Sigh.

  7. Schwimmen, springen, anything-en to stay cool these days! We had a reprieve yesterday in Dallas...it DIDN'T go over 100! Felt like spring...Ha! The summer version of Tafelspitz sounds perfect for a warm, summer evening dinner. I just love the handwriting on the menu boards. Are they taught that style in school? Happy Thursday!

  11. MY MELANGE:
That boxer knows how to spend a dog day afternoon, doesn't he? ;-)

    TUT-TUT:
    *smile*
I am inclined to do both. ;-)

    WILLOW:
It's so sad, I have seen quite a few of those truly original Viennese stores closed in the short time I live in Vienna. I see tourists all the time with bags from H&H and like chain stores. Inidividuality is not very fashionable, it seems.

    ALLIE:
I went to Austrian elementary schools, and they taught us good handwriting skills, with fountain pens (even Gothic, in arts class). Handwriting was seen as an important academic skill, and was graded. Our notebooks had to be kept immaculate to achieve the highest grade.

    HEXE:
    I bet you do,
you must be an expert by now! ;-)

    WANDERING STAR:
Well, girls like to have fun in the sun, and stars simply get up too late to see it. ;-)

    M.me LLAMA:
    You don't like mermaids? ;-)
