  5. I love it when you do color "themes"! The little feathered "friend" in the last picture looks whimsical....the more I look at him, the more I like him. Happy Wednesday!

  8. I have always loved the combination of orange and green. That is why I like the Berberis shrub so much.

  9. willow,
each and every time I happen to pass by that door, my eyes glaze over. ;-)

    bridget,
a wonderful August to you too! :-)

    sandycarlson,
    thank you, Sandy! :-)

    Allie,
that feathered friend is part of a group greeting from Hartmann Optician's shop windows.

    Amy,
    thank you! :-)

    TLC Illustrations,
    in that brilliant August light,
the different shades of orange turn into sheer magic, don't they? :-)

    Maalie,
very esoteric, that Berberis info! :-)

  10. What a wonderful color choice - quite unusual too. I'll have to go searching for it soon.
It's cool abd lovely in NY unlike the usual sweltering humid August.

  13. Orange always reminds me of autumn, but the bright blue sky in the photos is a reminder that it is still summer. Lovely.

  14. The oddest thing happened...I clicked on the "suit of ribbon" armor to make it bigger and a post for August 28th came up showing like the ghost of a small girl in a sweet shoppe...the young girl looked so like my sister Nicole it startled me...lovely photos as always...you have an artist's eye
    hugs

  15. Hi Merisi! I think I shall dub you the "Queen of Photos"...nobody takes photos as beautiful and interesting as yours. Once again, I'm playing catch-up on your blog, but you never disappoint; in fact, you inspire and uplift us visual types of people.

That funny little orange-robed creature at the end of this post was a whimsical surprise, after all those gorgeous roses. I laughed.

    I love your first photo.
    That green is perfect.
    Sort of bluey.
