Imperial Insignia
And a few forelorn heralds
Under a deep blue sky.
Down Below
In the Imperial Palace's Courtyard,
A dozen or so tourists,
Braving the merciless heat.
No More
They said!
And withered,
Only steps from relief!
Misty Relief
Of the garden hose variety,
Just outside the courtyard,
At Heldenplatz.
A Few More Steps Onwards
Two grown-ups,
Playing
"Catch the drops!"
High Noon
And the best place in town,
May well be here,
Under the fountain,
Contemplating a dive into the pond!
No Clochard
Under the bridge,
Pigeons instead,
Trying to find some shade!
Commotion
What commotion?
Go ahead,
Make my day!
Splash!
Oh yes, and then,
No more words!
All I Want to Do
Is sit
In the shade
And smell the roses!
I especailly love the ducks and the water.
ReplyDeleteThe statue sure looks surprised.
The mallard appears to be undertaking her post-nuptial moult as she seems to have shed some tail coverts behind her.

ReplyDeleteIt was a lovely moment, watching the birds around the fountain. Made me want to dive right in. ;-)
MAALIE:
Clever mallard,
she did what many of us would want to do when the heat becomes suffocating: Shed a few feathers! ;-)
Are you that very attractive lady, second photo from last? I think we should be told!
ReplyDeleteBack to rain in England.
The ducks certainly have the right idea! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's another 100+ day in Dallas today........SPLASH! I'm with the ducks!!! Shedding feathers...I'm right there with her :)
