*

The Daisy follows soft the Sun -
And when his golden walk is done -
Sits shyly at his feet -
He - waking - finds the flower there -
Wherefore - Marauder - art thou here?
Because, Sir, love is sweet!

We are the Flower - Thou the Sun!
Forgive us, if as days decline -
We nearer steal to Thee!
Enamored of the parting West -
The peace - the flight - the Amethyst -
Night's possibility!

(Emily Dickinson)

  1. Ohhhhhhhh! I'd like half a dozen of those sponge cakes please!

Do you eat them plain or add anything? They look delightful all on their own.

Your other pictures of the flowers are very pretty too, it looks like you are enjoying some real beauty where you are.

    Thanks for posting!

  2. So springlike!!!
My snow is finally melted but we have had 2 days of heavy rain and now my grass is flooded! But I'm looking forward to the brightness of the daffodils and tulips.... they are on their journey from the darkness under the earth to the spring sunshine!

  6. A dozen daisy sponge cakes to go please! Vienna turns such simple things into beautiful works of art. Thank you for helping me start my day with a smile. You've inspired me to take my camera with me to the lake today on the hunt for beautiful things in nature.

  11. @ Lavinia Ladyslipper:
I have never eaten those dainty cakes. Carol of Paris Breakfasts would say with "Schlag" (whipped cream). ;-)
