Sandy, that would have been a great title! Next time. ;-)
Freefalling, I don't know what impression he made on you, but I found the little scene so endearing. Back in DC, bikers are all fitted into tight spandex suits, and here there is this gentleman, very well dressed, who knows how to get to work on a bike in style.
We are big bike fans in this household and so this post was very heartwarming to me Merisi : ) I saw one of those spandex clad space-age looking cyclists coming through a crossroads nearby, just last weekend. I was saying to P how alien he looked. I much prefer the attire of the suited gentleman. I do hope he had a tweed hat, not a cycling helmet, which would have spoiled the look, although the cycling helmet is safer! Point of curiosity: are there good cycle lanes in Vienna? (there are cycle lanes in Dublin, but rather erratic in quality)
I could take that carriage ride and just doze all the way down the lane, then come back and still his bike and ride all over that beautiful city...can I, huh, can I? Sandi
@ SANDI MCBRIDE: I bet you would rather not want to doze during a carriage ride through the city. ;-) There's an easier way to rent a bike: There are many spots in the city where you can rent a bike with a creditcard. The first hour is free, if I understand their rules.
I love it! Of humans and their wheels, too!
ReplyDeleteWell!
ReplyDeleteHello there, sir!
Sandy,
ReplyDeletethat would have been a great title!
Next time. ;-)

I find the sight of non-motorized vehicles like the bike and carriage together encouraging. :)

ReplyDeleteThese pictures remind me very much of Jackson Square in New Orleans
ReplyDeleteWe finally had a SPRING DAY in New York!
ReplyDeleteHA! You're not the only one
Enfin!!!
The world looks serene as I see the bike and the man, and the scenery beyond.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoyed the Crawfish Tremezzino with that beautiful bunch of tulips around. :)
In all the hustle and bustle of life its nice to see a calmer side. Great capture of the Gentleman.
ReplyDeleteHa,ha.
ReplyDeleteI love your eyes for details and unexpected situations Merisi.
@ Seamus:
ReplyDeleteOne of the things I love about Vienna, lots of streets are pedestrian zones. Bikes and horse-drown carriages are exempted.
@ A KITE RISES:
Riding longer distances certainly would be a bit uncomfortable in such elegant attire. Bike lanes aplenty, throughout Vienna!

ReplyDeleteSandi
Charles Gramlich:
ReplyDeleteHave you been to Big Easy lately?
ParisBreakfasts :
Finalmente! Pear tree blossom time in NY City, can it get any better? ;-)
(Btw, ever checked what the acronym ENFIN stands for? *g*)

Thank you, I thoroughly enjoyed both the tramezzino and the view, a few moments of utter relaxation.
@ PHOTOWANNABE:
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree! :-)
Thank you.
