Remind me, Thou Connoisseur! What exactly does a tipped sideways teacup mean? Etiquette wise? I know it means something. Please enlighten me. Somehow I think that my current idea of "I'd rather have coffee please" is incorrect!
Olivia Kroth: a cup of gold with a slice of lemon meringue - what Sunday delight! Thank you for the beautiful Haiku! The lemon meringue was sitting on top of the display case, I had to steal a photo before it was taken away to delight some lucky customer. ;-)
Cream: Merci beaucoup! I am still learning to understand how close-ups work with my camera. Only yesterday, I noticed another way to get a clearer image (it's amazing, how quick I learn, isn't it? *giggle*)
cipriano:
What exactly does a tipped sideways teacup mean? Methinks the cup is empty??? ;-)
Etiquette wise? I am afraid I'll have to ask you to please check in Letitia Baldrige's "New Manners for New Times", next time you happen to be at Border's. I'd love to know the answer to this conundrum myself!
Somehow I think that my current idea of "I'd rather have coffee please" is incorrect! In the worst case scenario, you'd miss out on a tea cup filled to the rim with good coffea arabica! ;-)
Oh these are so delicate and beautiful. I especially like the cup with the huge swooping handle. i could drink out of any one of them and that pastry looks delicious.
It must be the impending gloom of winter, but I'm having a gold obsession at the moment - bought some real gold leaf at the weekend, can't wait to use it...!

ReplyDeleteMaybe it's good I didn't come..with the dollar in the doldrums...
ReplyDeleteTres riche!
Those cups and saucers are beautiful - and I'd love that lemon meringue tart about now! Sigh.
ReplyDeleteThe citron tart is gold to me!
ReplyDeleteI don't normally like anything gold, but these are really nice.
ReplyDeleteI like the shape of that third cup.

ReplyDeleteO my -- all that gold! And it doesn't even look ostentatious, just luxurious.
