Five little pumpkins
Sitting in the tree
Five little pumpkins!
Who threw away the key?
Five little pumpkins
Hiding in the dark.
Five little pumpkins
Scared out of their wits.
Five little pumkins
Playing all dressed up?
Five little pumpkins
Crying out aloud:
"Not me, not me, not me!"
Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate.
The first one said, "Oh my, it's getting late."
The second one said, "There are witches in the air!"
The third one said, "I don't care!"
The fourth one said, "Let's run and run and run!"
The fifth one said, "Let's have some fun!"
"Ooh-ooh!" went the wind and out went the light
And the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight.
For my daughter G.M.
who taught me this rhyme,
counting the pumpkins
on her tiny fingers.
.
Ooh is that last picture a pair of scissors?

ReplyDeleteGreat rhyme. I can see a little one using it to coune. Great shots too.

ReplyDeleteSo sweet! And I love that sign with the key symbol - I'd be tempted to take it home!
