Dusk
Arrives early
A streetcar
Windows dark,
Glides by silently
And disappears
Into the vaning day.
Strange Creatures
Move through the air
Out of the blue
Musicians spill into the streets
Suddenly, Night Falls
On Halloween Eve
From a courtyard
Candlelight flickers
And beckons!
All ye who enter here
Through me you pass into the city of Wien
Step up to the table
Take some corn candy
To show you are bold at heart
Upstairs
Under swaying chandeliers
Dancing into Samhain night
The sound of a flute
Floats through the air
Glasses clink
Jack O'Lanterns grin
Goblins and ghost
Dance the night away.
A scary Halloween to all,
And to all a good-night!
All scenes photographed
on
Halloween Evening 2007
in the Inner City of Vienna.

ReplyDeleteLove the chandelier with the red umbrella. Beautiful moulding on the building.
ReplyDeleteSOMEPINKFLOWERS:
ReplyDeleteThank you, I danced through the night at Lobmayer's Chandelier and Umbrella ball! ;-)
CREAM:
Thank you,
there were spirits in the air! :-)
HEXE:
I share your predilection, I always have a ball when I walk by that building on Kärntner Strasse. The building itself, the shop windows, and the interior of the upstairs are a delight.
Everything looks perfect for Halloween.

Extremely evocative.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Cream: you can 'feel' the spirits.
I like the sliding streetcar with its dark windows.
PS: did you have even a slight hangover this morning? :))
Thanks for taking me with you on your samhain night.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos,
ReplyDeleteHappy All souls day Merisi.
