BARBARA: I will, all the beauty I can capture. :-)
MAALIE: I couldn't believe my eyes when I spotted that tree trunk, it literally stopped me in my tracks. Such a déjà vu moment! Really eerie, having looked at your blog post about Russia moments before I left for my hike, and I didn't expect beavers down there at all (next hike, bear tracks! *grin*). Those knickers? Dunno. Maybe somebody had to flee when a bear approached? ;-)
SUSAN: I am slowly discovering that legendary river, truly beautiful (and then, having grown up by a river, I love every river).
KATE: This is the more urban part of the river, and still, it gives harbor to many life forms. Little bit more downriver there are alluvial forests and wetlands that seem eons away from today's life. Like paradise.
GYPSY PURPLE: Wherever I lived, when I heard that waltz (or any other) I always felt a connection to the music. Strange.
ParisBreakfasts. CAROL, don't forget your waterproof hiking boots! :-))))

ReplyDeleteDefinitely a beaver! You can see the teeth marks in the stump, and the chippings at the side are typical.
