On Trying To Be A Good Parent

Very precious image.

Isn't it wonderful
if your teenager allows you to treat her to lunch?
Well, yes, sometimes they do get hungry.
(For the record: I do not have a teenager in the house!!)

You may even accompany her to a museum exhibition
(by sheer luck, SHE LOVES ART!).

Would-be Cerberus

Cautionary note:
On your way home, do not, I repeat: do not! not ever!,
stop and take pictures
or try to engage in other embarrassing activities
with your teenager by your side
.

Photographed in the privacy of my home.
No teenager was embarrassed while taking this picture.

Have a great weekend! :-)

  1. I am not aware of *anything* that one can do that will not embarrass one's teenager...

  5. Hello Merisi,
Thanks for sharing. My eldest just entered her teens and I really dread them! I so much hope I' ll be in step with her! I hear all those "can't help it" stories but I'd really like to do otherwise...I have been very quiet as a teenager, boiling on the inside though. I wouldn't like that for her, either...

I have tagged you.I hope you like this kind of game. Could you please share with us Five Things About You? (Mine are up on the blog. Please stop by!)

    Have a lovely week,
    Irene

  6. You all:
I love teenagers. One only needs to learn to embarrass them less. ;-)
    @ Irene:
Don't worry, just try to be the mother you wished you'd had, that's all it takes (firm rules inlcuded, kids need to be able to say, 'I'd love to come, but my terribly conservative parents won't let me!').
    Five things about me? :-)
    1) No sugar in my coffee, please.
    2) I'm addicted to the Crayfish tramezzino at Schwarze Kameel
    3) I love the sea in winter
    4) I love Jekyll Island and Capri in Spring
    5) I wished I'd own one of Robert Rauschenberg's collages.
