No, not the same old!
This time, I deliver:
Viennese Mélange for all!

Lemon Meringue Tartlette
with Red Currants

Pastry chef Pierre Reboul's
heavenly temptation

Viennese Mélange
with Lemon Meringue Tartlette

Viennese Mélange
as served at Café Central
on a silvery tray with a
spoon-topped glass of water
and red-foil-wrapped chocolate nougat

Somebody could not wait
any longer and dug in,
with a cake fork, that is!

I dedicate this blog post
to Stephanie Levy,
who recently visited Vienna

and discovered Pierre Reboul's
fabulous lemon tartlette, tempting me with these words:
"This little lemon tart was one of the most beautiful things I have ever eaten. Sweet, citrusy, creamy filling with a crunchy base. My taste buds were in heaven. I honestly felt emotional about this tart - it was that good. Viennese pastry chefs are true artisans."

Who am I to resist? ;-)

    Kurwenal,
I have been away from Vienna for several weeks and I felt like a kid in a candy store upon returning. So many choices, so little time, isn't it?
